The DSZ Series is a free-standing outdoor cabinet developed for telecom, broadband and data-access installations where equipment must be protected from weather exposure and unauthorised access. Manufactured in Europe by Radiolex, the DSZ enclosure combines a double-wall aluminium body with an aluminium profile frame to deliver high thermal stability, mechanical strength and corrosion resistance.
Typical uses include telecom infrastructure, roadside broadband distribution, outdoor IT nodes and industrial communication systems.
Construction & Materials
The DSZ enclosure is built on a self-supporting aluminium profile frame assembled from high-rigidity system profiles. The frame incorporates functional profile channels rated to 12,000 N tensile resistance, allowing flexible mounting of internal components and modular sections.
External wall panels, roof and door are manufactured from powder-coated double-wall aluminium sheets finished in RAL7035. The double-wall design improves mechanical resistance and supports better thermal performance in outdoor conditions. A 2 mm galvanised steel base provides additional stability and corrosion protection.
Protection & Environmental Performance
The DSZ Series provides IP55 ingress protection and IK10 impact resistance. It is designed for reliable operation in exposed outdoor locations such as roadside environments, industrial sites and urban infrastructure.
Operating temperature range: –40°C to +80°C. The double-wall construction supports natural airflow and a chimney effect, reducing solar heating and condensation and improving thermal stability without the need for active cooling in many applications.
Cable Entry & Grounding
A bottom-mounted cable entry plate is included, with dimensions dependent on the enclosure width. Threaded grounding studs are provided in both the cabinet body and the door to ensure proper earthing of installed equipment.
Security & Access
The main door is mounted on robust hinges with a 105° opening angle and equipped with a handle-style lock. Optional keyed inserts are available to support secure access control. The double-wall aluminium panels increase resistance to vandalism and unauthorised entry.
Internal Flexibility
Thanks to its modular aluminium frame, the DSZ cabinet can be configured with separate internal compartments and tailored equipment layouts, including:
