Offshore environments demand electrical solutions that combine strength, precision, and complete resistance to corrosion. To support one of the major offshore wind farm developments in the North Sea, our manufacturing partner engineered and supplied a series of control cabinets for a 270 MVA power transformer.
Each enclosure was designed to withstand extreme conditions and ensure long-term reliability in a high-salinity, high-humidity environment. The cabinets were constructed from acid-resistant stainless steel with C5M‑Offshore corrosion protection, and designed for IP66 ingress protection and compliance with relevant British standards. Operating temperatures ranged from −30°C to +40°C to ensure resilience in both harsh winter and summer conditions.
In addition to the main transformer control cabinets, a dedicated set of measurement and control enclosures was supplied, each fabricated from stainless steel for maximum durability. The systems integrated components from ABB, Stego, Phoenix Contact, Lovato and other leading manufacturers — ensuring reliable performance, efficient monitoring, and full protection against moisture and mechanical stress.
